Lately I’m managing quite a few blogs to promote my own website, I decided I should only work on wordpress based blogs, so far we all agree that WordPress is ideal for almost all kinds of blogging needs, people even use it as CMS, together with Open Source License make the WordPress the most favored blogging kit around the globe.

After a while I believed that build my own blogs will be more beneficial, because subsequently I can use my own blogs to promote my other websites, and I think its not a patentable idea, all kinds of blog networks are out there for the exact purpose, anyway those are other people’s asset and I have no control, not to mention I can’t just post to them, its easy to understand that the price on those networks won’t be cheap.

If you have tried to maintain a few different blogs you will know its not easy, if you’re not using your blogs as spamming device, to write interesting content is always time consuming, remember real value is always difficult to achieve. Check out a couple of interesting blogs, let’s examine this one, truck straps, it’s name is pretty cute, and it has a lot of interesting posts, without a clear theme, there are all kinds of posts on the site. Check this one out, Heavy Duty Hand Tools, this one has main theme, all topics are about same theme, and ranks well for quite a few keywords. I can show you a lot more sites, but I think you understand the basics now. Here is one last note, you should build some casual blogs, let them get some content occasionally, just like this blog, Feng Shui Tree, this will make a blog network more like naturally built blog groups.

After you successfully build a few blogs, probably you can add a few more blogs to your arsenal, use the old ones to promote the new ones, this is the way to build your own blogging network. Of course its just the beginning, it won’t be easy to build even a tiny blogging network, do remember don’t do any spamming tricks for your sites, if you get black listed there is no come back.
